Because it would have looked like the Briggs beating all over again.
Well good thing Stiverne didn't face Vitali

I think it'd look more like the Adamek fight since he is a short counter puncher but that was still a pretty decent scrap. -

So what? Stiverne was a fat bum with rabdo with a resume nearly as thin as Wilder's. Not a fantasy fight pick to boast about.Comment

Chisora>Stiverne based on that performance.
That is certainly the truth.
In fact, it's been said before, but nobody has really walked through Chisora.
Fury outboxed him soundly and he's been KOed too, but he's either survived and applied pressure or atleast given a good account of himself prior to being stopped.
He really BEAT Helenius who was THEN considered to be something special. It seems as if Chisora basically RETIRED Helenius! LOL.
If Chisora is the weakest product out of Britain, it goes to show the quality of the UK's boxing assembly line.
I would have argued strongly for Stiverne before the Wilder fight. But I'm not so sure after that performance anymore! Chisora could outbox Stiverne no doubt. Stiverne would win only by landing the one hard punch again.
That number was excitable the first time I seen it against Arreola. The novelty wore off when he failed to produce it. Hate to say it, but Wilder could have been right. (2 trick pony).Comment
