Today we celebrate Bill Millers 81st birthday. The gym signed the card and presented the cake to the wide smiled birthday boy. It was really quite a moment when it was happening. The gym crowded around Bill as we sang his song. Looking at Bill it ran through my mind all of the years that he has spent in the game. All of the boxers that he helped build and essentially that I was wishing a happy birthday to a man that has spent his life deep in the game. Peoples opinions may vary about his greatness, but to me his greatness is carved in stone. Not only for the contributions he has given our game but more so for the gentle, kind and wise man that he is. Bill is one in a million in my eyes...... may he have another 81.
