I read what I wrote above here at boxing scene, in the forums.
People have been saying Pacquiao and Arum are posturing and lying about signing a contract because a fighter's contract simply cannot exist if HBO and Showtime still have details to iron out regarding the broadcast.
So it is obvious that Floyd Mayweather must be an executive producer at CBS. As for HBO's salary cap, that is a fair assumption to make because as an Executive at Showtime, there is no way on earth he would allow HBO to make any profits from his name.
I've remained relatively quiet on this matter. But I will say this. I hope this is still hype and drama for an inevitable announcement soon. Many signs point to that being the case with so many inside voice saying it will happen.
However, should Super Bowl come and go and we hear nothing from Mayweather then that will be an unfortunate thing. I want to hear the spin people will put on his silence at that point.
My guess, they'll blame the networks.
Possibly sad....quite sad.
If the fight does not happen It will be the same spin that a handful of Floyd followers on this board have been spinning for years
It's Arums fault.
There will be no fight as long as Arum Is In the picture. Yet there Is negotiations supposedly taking place and guess what, Arum Is still In the picture.
These few posters are as full of **** as Floyd Is.
I don't know what to think because it seems like with all Floyd fights lately there's some kind of confusion or ambiguity before his opponent is officially announced. So, I'll just sit back and have faith while the fan boys from both sides cry themselves out.
There is something fishy about this entire situation. If Pacquaio actually did agree to all the terms Mayweather set and Pacquaio knows that the networks are negotiating the broadcast rights, he shouldn't be demanding that Mayweather sign the contract by the end of the month. He would know that nothing can be signed until the networks have an agreement and once the networks agree, however long it takes, Floyd will sign the contract.
Based on this information, Pacquaio expects Mayweather to sign a contract without knowing who will broadcast the fight, who will do the preview show or anything else related to the broadcast. That doesn't make sense. The only thing that does make sense is that they have not come to a financial agreement and Arum is lying to the media.
The location, the date and the drug testing were non-negotiable issues. Agreeing to those things is the equivalent of agreeing that the sky is blue. I think Bob Arum is lying about all the terms being agreed to, based on what Mayweather said recently. I think Arum likely said, "we will give you 60 percent" and then told the media that Pacquaio had agreed to all terms, when actually, Pacquaio only agreed to the terms that Arum was offering. I think Maywather was demanding more or something different that what Arum is claiming.
I also believe that Pacquaio is simply saying what Bob Arum told him to say. It sounds like Arum is setting up his excuse when he announces Pacquaio/Vargas at the end of the month. Asking Mayweather to sign the contract now or sign the contract by the end of the month without knowing anything about the broadcast rights just doesn't pass the smell test.

Blah, blah, blah.
For once just have Floyd make it known that he REALLY wants the fight. Up to now he is talking all that recycled excuse "Pacquiao has a boss, etc" who cares? Just fight the little Filipino already.
