Pugmire reported last week that the networks were meeting to hash out a deal, that nothing was signed and both fighters had verbally agreed.

Today, when questioned, he says Floyd has to be ready to sign (what does "ready" mean? A pen in hand?) before the networks get their issues hashed out. So which is it?

Even without this fight, it can still be a good year for boxing. I just hope people dont give Manny a pass to fight another bum just because theres no Mayweather. They should make Pacquiao/Canelo at a catch weight. No Jessie Vargas bull****.

Cotto letting the Canelo fight pass him by means only one thing. Mayweather/Cotto II for May 2. What other reason would he have to not accept the offer.

Im cool with this rematch, its not a 'cherry pick' and Floyd would be looking to make boxing history. Cotto in my opinion gave Floyd the toughest fight since Castillo. Maidana was just dirty and sloppy, Cotto was effective and gave Floyd trouble.

The year doesnt have to suck just because this fight wont happen in May. In September there is another chance, and I think its been Floyds plan all along to close out his Showtime deal with the Manny fight. The guy is all about money, and doing it in September makes more business sense. Hel promote it as his 'last' fight. Just a little extra drama, which means more money.

Floyd already knows people talking about boycott and insulting him means nothing, he makes $32 million guaranteed and still does good numbers with all the hate.

As long as Pacquioa doesnt use the 'Floyd wont fight' excuse to pick a bum for his next fight, the year can be good.

I dont get this though. If Pacquiao is too small for Canelo, but Floyd isnt. Isnt Manny then too small for Mayweather? .. All I hope is that Manny doesnt use the 'Floyd wont fight' excuse to pick a bum for his next bout. No more damn Rios and Algieri bull****.

It would be epic if both Mayweather and Pac had a face-off to announce the fight during the half time show. A quick two to three minute face-off/announcement of the fight....

It would be the most fitting and epic thing to do. I'm sure there won't be too many people in the stadium that wouldn't know either of them or complain.

It wouldn't hurt to cut Katie Perry's performance short by a few moments. Michael Buffer and Jimmy Lennon Jr can announce the fighters out... Talk about hyping the fight to the most extreme.
