Kessler vs DeGale in the works.

With Carl Froch expected to vacate the IBF title, mandatory challenger James DeGale is believed to fight for the vacated title on April 25 at the London O2.

Former 5 time titlist Mikkel Kessler, who has been inactive for 2 years, is the frontrunner to face DeGale. Promotor Kalle Sauerland confirms to eb.dk that he has received an offer.

I have wanted to see this fight for a while but Kessler doesn't really deserve a title shot at this stage

      Good fight.

If DeGale beats Kessler, watch Groves wanting to fight DeGale again.

I have DeGale beating Groves in the rematch.

Degale UDs Kessler. I like Kessler but he's shot imo degale should win comfortably fulfilling his dreams of becoming a world champion.

I'm not so sure Kessler is shot...OK it has been a long lay off but he could surprise some people and really do a job on DeGale. I don't think DeGale has the power to worry Kessler but Mikkel does. But I do agree DeGale's youth and freshness MIGHT help him to win a decision based on work rate.

              Good fight anyway.

I just get the feeling degales performances have improved in 2014. Everyone thought degales career would lead to nowhere after losing to groves. The whole country hated him. He had promotional troubles with frank warren and mick Hennessy. He was basically 28 years old with about 16 fights, hardly active for a gold medalist no one really gave a hoot. But he's turned all that around.

He's abit of a slappy fighter but he will have no problem with Kessler imo. Late tko or ud

I don't know what Kessler is like now but DeGale would have even beaten him on his best night.
