His voice was paralyzed from a punch so now he talks like some movie villain. As far as serious injuries go it's a pretty cool one to have.



“These years with Sauerland have been absolute hell,” Kalle Helenius said and loaded quite a shower of accusations against his son’s German boxing stable.

According to the father, Sauerland has trained his son wrong. This has resulted in injuries and the rehabilitation has not been appropriate. Helenius has been forced to fight with an injured arm, contracts have been made deceitfully and great amount of money has not been paid. In addition, Helenius has not been insured at all, but the team has “lent” him money to pay for the medical bills.

“Robert owes the team 50,000 euros,” lists the father.

Now they have cut themselves off from the German team. The Heleniuses would like to get rid of the team altogether, but Sauerland will not allow that. According to Kalle Helenius, the team says it owns the rights to the Finn for three more years. “On Monday I’ll go to the Porvoo police station and file a report on them. We want a court ruling that gives Robert a right to practise his profession,” Kalle Helenius said.

This is new? Where from? I just knew he had contractual disputes with Sauerland. It's messed up how this stuff ruins careers, another example is Denis Boytsov who's career was halted too.

As for Helenius, what happened to him sucks and I hope he can get his career back on track, but to be honest I'm not particularly interested in seeing him again. A fighter of his supposed level has no business losing to Chisora.

Helenius officially won Chisora. As for performance, didn't he break his arm in the first round or something? For me that's perfectly acceptable to beat Chicora with one hand, even if narrowly.

Not a huge shame, as Chisora is quite good, and tough for anyone. But Helenius isn't that good, as was obvious from that fight. Ever since that fight he went quiet since he realised what he is capable of.

Again, wasn't that the fight Helenius got injured? Why you're using such fight as the definitive indication?

I don't remember any injury or seeing him fight compromised in any way. Was punching with both hands. Sounds like your typical post fight deception. If it really was just an injury, we would've seen him back in the ring koing ppl, he woulda rematched Chisora and beat him. But nope.

Using that fight because its his best opponent, first real challenge and he wasn't strong enough or have enough stamina to hang.

Helenius looks great against bums and cab drivers, but the reason we don't hear from him or about him is because after the Chisora fight he knew he is not going to be a successful HW.

Well if it was an actual hampering injury in the first round, would you change your mind?

I myself haven't seen any proof that he's not boxing because what you just said. I think you just want to believe things what suits you.
