It's because Wilder is an American fighting for the world title, that type of nationalism often happens for World Title fights regardless of whether it's American, Euro or whatever. It's good to see Americans getting behind their fighter because (the only important reason) it should go towards creating a electric crowd atmosphere which will always add to the excitement of a fight as a viewer. Basically, the more fans, the better.

        Wlad, absolutely.

I completely disagree about Pulev though. Pre-fight I said he was a slow plodder with average at best power that would be shown up and that's what he is.

Povetkin is a far better fighter, Haye is far better (if not retired), I think Stiverne is better also.

Just curious Pee. Just curious. Having a legit yank contender at HW will always be good for boxing. But would Stiverne or Wilder be the real deal?

I think this fight will be a big revealer on where Wilder stands, in terms of legitimacy.

I don't see either guy really standing much of a chance against WK, but in terms of top 5-10, it will make some waves.

I'd like to see the winner face Pulev or Povetkin. A win over either would prove legitimacy.

Pulev is very light on his feet for a big man and he's not slow either. With a better right hand he would be fearsome.

Question is, is Stiverne the real test for Wilder? Stiverne is not that hard to hit, he was battered by Areola. The only plus side in him is he's got a huge heart and a sturdy chin. But will it hold against Wilder?
