MGM Grand, Las Vegas - Former champion Jean Pascal (29-2-1, 17KOs) spoke to BoxingScene.com about the recent rumblings of a possible super middleweight collision between IBF/WBA 'regular' champion Carl Froch (33-2, 24KOs) and living legend Bernard Hopkins (55-7-2, 32KOs), who on Thursday celebrated his 50th birthday.

I hope Hops just retire already and enjoy his money, and health. The way he fought the last time is very telling of his age. He can't pull the trigger anymore, he can't move his feet as he used to, all he did was duck, dodge, and bobbed and still got caught with some big shots. His fight will Froach will not gonna elevate him from regular fighter to an elite, because he is already an elite fighter. No one can break his record for the oldest fighter to win a championship belt, no one can surpass how long he held his middle weight titles. Just concentrate on helping Golden Boy Promotion, and if he wants to train boxers, do it. I know he'll be a great trainer with his discipline and ring savvy, he'll be better than Roach, Hunter, or anyone else out there. Please don't bash me for stating my opinion.

        100% You're right

He's already a legend with nothing to prove

Ffs he just fought kovalev which deserves big time props

He maybe sees froch as a easy way to retire as champion

Froch doesn't handle slick boxers too well ( I'm a froch fan)

If Hops can still pull the trigger and move a little bit to avoid Froach's punches, he can win, but I see this fight as a hug fest a very boring fight and it'll get ugly halfway. So I'll pass on to this one. Plus I guarantee it ain't gonna make a ton of money.

Man Hopkins has nothing left to prove

He's fighting at such a high level at years considered ancient in boxing

Damn this guy dosent quit does he? Hey man at least he's fighting the best I agree with pascal I don't think froch would be as dangerous opponent as kovalev when Hopkins loses he loses big like kovalev he never had a chance all Hopkins needs is an opening and he could turn the fight around I think he has a strong chance of beating froch.
