It's been eight months since we've last seen Willie Monroe Jr. in the ring, but he picked up exactly where he left and in the same ring that produced the biggest win of his career.
The winner of the 2014 Boxcino Middleweight tournament had his way with veteran Bryan Vera, mixing boxing and occasional trading in a landslide points win Friday evening at Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York.
Monroe Jr. appeared at Turning Stone for his third straight fight. His hometown in Ithaca (NY) less than two hours away, the southpaw is already practically the house fighter but in recent years has become a crowd favorite at the venue.
