Jones easy IMO jones fought a sick amount of southpaws on his record and size wouldn't be huge factor to athletic far too fast and if he shook Ruiz in round 4 he would have enough pop to hurt moorers suspect chin comfortable points win -
Michael Moorer would beat Jones. Moorer isn't as bad as people make him out to be. He had good power in his prime as well and would probably knock Jones out eventually.Comment

Jones is faster and a much better boxer all around.
Moorer is a harder puncher and stronger boxer though.
Jones thrashes Moorer at lighter weights.... Moorer is obviously a better HW boxer though.
Moorer KO Jones at HW. Not at lower.Comment

Pretty much agree, but I think Moorer was a WAY better light heavyweight than most people give him credit for, he just never really got to build on it, as all the big names of a fairly strong, and very interesting division at the time flatly refused to fight him. Still I think even at 175 Jones wins two of every three times they fight by decision. Every 3rd time however, Jones goes night night.
I say that knowing that watching Jones at 168 in his prime was like watching Michael Jordon at his best competing against average high school players.Comment

Yes and I can agree with that assessment too my man, Moorer was ducked would be challengers that may have boosted his record. Moorer vs Jones at light heavy would have been a great fight and one of Jones very best opponents and ultimately imo, wins, after a hard fought battle.Pretty much agree, but I think Moorer was a WAY better light heavyweight than most people give him credit for, he just never really got to build on it, as all the big names of a fairly strong, and very interesting division at the time flatly refused to fight him. Dumb thread......
This is yet another dumb fantasy fight. How old are you? Anyway. MM is one of the greatest Lightheavy Weights, ever. He was ferocious and menacing. He went undefeated as a Lightheavy Weight for a reason. His power as a LHW ranks up there with Archie Moore and Ezzard Charles. He was also the greatest southpaw Heavyweight in history. I am tired of you guys thinking that Floyd Mayweather and Roy Jones are boxing greats and would beat certain fighters. Smarten up. The media and the C/B Level guys they fight, gives you all the impression that they are better than what they truly are. MM would KO Roy Jones in 2-3 rounds. Maybe the first round. What you idiots have to remember, is that Roy was fighting policemen and firefighters a lot, in his prime. His first REAL challenge came against Tarver. You all saw what happened when he got hit. He is the fastest fighter I've ever seen in a boxing ring BUT one attribute doesn't beat a great fighter. Remember that. Roy Jones is no boxing god and is highly overrated. He would've been KO'ed quite a bit in another era, where you needed to be able to take some good shots.Comment

I'm going with Moorer, I can't see past Moorer's lengthy time at HW, his world title and some impressive wins. How can anyone pick one time Jones at HW?
A LHW showdown would be a better and more balanced discussion.Comment
