Why would Arum not want this fight? It will be a huge payday for him? Top Rank will do most if not all the promoting because Mayweather Promotions is just a sham. So get the phuk outta here with that Bull*****. Geez Floyd**** are ******.

I wonder if their contracts dictate that they can NOT fight for any other network or if they simply must fulfill a certain number of fights with their respective network.

I'm thinking, if they're free to fight under other networks, they should dump HBO and Showtime. There are many other networks that would put all they had into pushing this fight. A fight this big doesn't really need HBO or Showtime. They need the fight. So, I'm thinking a FoxSports and ESPN joint venture could do it. Let Sky Sports handle things across the pond and you've got close to 3 million PPV buys... and who knows how many theater tickets sold?

But I think something hyped this much for so long can't possibly deliver. Iron Man vs. the Hulk wouldn't live up to what this has been built up to.

I doubt it. He already has a couple of L's. He's nearing the end of his career and I seriously doubt HBO or Arum are really worried much about his marketability at this point. Pacquiao has NEVER been afraid of what a loss would do to him so there's probably a million reasons why Arum does his part to stall the action. A fear of losing just isn't one of them.

Floyd, however, perfect record... covets that 0. That's a different story.

Everyone knows that Haymon has a reputation for robbing fighters

Just watch the Cano and Herrera fight which were both the robbery of the year. Do yall remember what the NSAC did when Floyd had to testify? They let him get away with weed and almost got two fighters seriously injured. They recently just let Jon Jones do coke and have low testosterone and no punishment whatsoever.

If this fight ends in a KO than that network gets to show the delay

If this fight goes to the scorecards than both get to air it. Problem solved

HBO needs to realize who they have at their disposal, it doesnt matter if Pac was to get beat from pillar to post...Bob Arum ppl! Cmon they cant have already forgotten the Bradley/chavez decision they just aired...all the horrible decisions Top Rank "coicidentally" had. Same deal as lewis/tyson Make it happen HBO! They have freakin Bob Arum.

You're spot on man. It all comes down to the $. This fight, if it happens, will be cashing in for both fighters. Both are within a year or so of retiring. And whoever wins, neither will be able to top this with any other fight. But people saying they are worried about Pac taking a loss are a little misguided, I think.

Number one, he's already lost 5 times. Hell, he lost back in '96 before anyone knew who he was. He rose to superstardum AFTER losses.

Number two, a loss to Floyd is different than a loss to anyone else. A loss to anyone else hurts your marketability and your chances at securing another big payday. A loss to Floyd is written off as coming up short against the best. No one's value has dropped a bit after losing to Floyd. Manny's might, because by many he's considered Floyd's equal, but I doubt it.
