MGM Grand, Las Vegas - Rick Reeno catches up with former two-division champion Bernard Hopkins at his private birthday party. Many of Hopkins' friends came together to celebrate with the future Hall of Famer, who turned 50-years-old on Thursday. Hopkins made a wish (out loud), blew out the candles, and did something he promised never to do again (unless he turns 100) - EAT CAKE.

Hopkins had an amazing career but it is time to let the young guys fight. If he keeps going the risks get worse every fight. Hope he had a great birthday.

What a guy, my favourite athlete in the world and he lives by the philosophy he preaches, look at the guys he has taken on since going to light heavyweight. Tarver, Pascal, Cloud, Calzaghe, Pavlik, Dawson & Kovalev, win lose or draw he has fought the best! When he is finally done people will not worry so much about his record, which is incredible but his attitude to the sweet science and willingness to fight the best. Records mean nothing, take note Floyd!

Funny joke about a black man with a knife. I like the way Hopkins ate that piece of his, like he don't care if he'll get fat. He should retire and finish off the rest of that cake.
