Hopkins has proven to be amazing for his longevity. You have to hand it to the man He has surpassed all of his own peers and even some later ones.

However, I don't believe him to be an all-time great. He will get in the IBOF but it is called the hall of....fame.

Does one get to be famous without being great? Oh yeah. Jorge Paez was famous. Hector Camacho was famous. Buster Douglas was famous. Great? Um...no.

Hopkins is a great technician, but for me, the guy cheated like hell. Low blows, rabbit punches and head butts abound. I'm sure Holyfield he Head will get in too. I know a lot of people respect and admire them, but the cheating is so bad it makes it difficult for me.

Plus Hopkins' boring, ten punch a round style. Even when he wins, it's not an exciting fight. Defense wise, he's great, but what about offense? That low punch output is not great offense. It's sharp and precise but there is so much dead air in his fights that they just are not any fun.

So Hopkins- defense and longevity wise= super. -offense and entertainment wise- dreadful.

To me as well. I'd say one of the best of the Roy Jones Jr. ERA. Same as someone like a Shane Mosely. Both of whom I think are Great in their ERA, but NOT ALL-TIME Greats. It bothers me that some call BHop Old-school, but have you seen James Toney( Real Old school ) do all of the cheap shots you just pointed out. Worse is fake injuries to buy time.
