If I'm not mistaken, when Shaefer was running the show at GBP, he wanted VADA to disclose the test results to them first prior to reporting it to the commission. VADA wouldn't do that and as a result they dropped them for USADA whom they have more control over.
Not true. The problem was that originally VADA gave too much power to the athlete, allowing the athlete to dictate who and when results could be shared. This is what happened with the Peterson incident. Peterson demanded that VADA not share results with anyone after his A-sample tested positive. VADA waited til his B-sample came back a month later before sharing his positive with Golden Boy and the Commission. This is fact. VADA no longer does things like this anymore. They switched up after this mishap.

Everyone found out at the last minute about the positive, so all the money behind the fight could not be salvaged. That is what Schaefer was pissed about, because had he known earlier, he could have swapped Peterson with another fighter for Khan.

If true, how is this better for the sport than what USADA is doing which is allowing dirty fighters to continue retesting and even letting them fight?

It is true. Random drug testing for professional boxing is still a new thing, so mistakes here and there will be made by VADA, USADA, and even NSAC. But these days, I think they all have a good system in place and learned from their past mishaps.

Keep in mind, USADA is sponsored by the US government, they are the official anti-doping organisation for the entire country. They do all the athletes for the Olympics. Like UKAD is the official anti-doping organisation for the United Kingdom, sponsored by the UK. There is no conspiracy here. Only conspiracies conjured up by conspiracy theorists that have nothing else better to do.

Wasn't USADA the agency in charge of testing Lance Armstrong?

We'll never know how much Tygart is getting from Haymon. He obviously can't buy VADA. Reminds me again of Haymon's fight cancellation threat when Malignaggi was demanding VADA testing in the Broner fight.

Exactly. Like I said...I'm all for the year round testing in boxing. I just wish it was being handled by a agency with more credibility than USADA. They have been involved in too many shady dealings over the past few years.

I just find it strange at how VADA busts a few Haymon fighters and he cuts them off and switched to USADA. Isnt that the point of testing? To catch cheaters???

I thought Haymon used USADA before VADA.

At times, yes. But he spent a number of years in overseas events, where he also beat many tests. Keep in mind, this was many years ago when testing wasn't nearly as advanced as it is today.

Again, USADA nor VADA tests samples internally. Samples are taken and sent to the lab at UCLA. So if an athlete beats a USADA test, he can beat a VADA test and vice-versa. But it's very difficult to do.

All I know is that one agency is catching cheaters and exposing them while the other is catching them and trying to cover up for them.

Which sounds more credible and would you rather have in charge of testing?
