    Boxing nicknames

Does the boxer decide what the nickname should be or do the fans do ?

Didn't Steve Kim coin the nickname for a few boxers that sticked? Like "Pacman" for Pacquiao and "The Machine" for Matthyse. There's a couple more he coined but I can't remember.

"Canelo's" trainer gave him his nickname.

Orlando "Siri" Salido was given his nickname by his friends as kids, who said he looked like Cirilo from the Mexican telenovela "Carrusel"

It's different for all of them but I think "El Terrible" Erik Morales has to be one of my favorites along with "Manos De Piedras(Hands of Stone)" for Roberto Duran.

None more ominous than James "the hammer" butler. Beat his friend to death with a hammer then torched his place.
