Dude, I'm not here to argue about Mayweather's previous opponents. Nor his walking away from HBO moving to Showtime. I'm here commentating about Khan's demands of Floyd.

It is a dumb move to give Mayweather a timeline. Particularly making the time line public. It's pretty much guaranteeing that Mayweather will say no.

    • You cant blame Amir Khan for saying hes not going to wait around forever for an answer. After all, he was heavily criticized for waiting all this time for a Mayweather fight while fighting bums so he doesn't blow his chances. Now he is in the same situation again and he realizes he doesn't want to make the same mistake he made in the past.

Where I think you can find fault in his actions is how he is going about the whole situation. First hes calling out mayweather and saying hes scared knowing full well mayweather is trying to make a fight with pacquiao. Obviously Pacquiao is going to get the fight way before Khan does. Then he says if no mayweather then pacquiao would be his next choice. What a ****** thing to say. If mayweather isn't fighting khan because he wants to fight pacquiao, how could pacquiao possibly be available to fight him. They both made it clear they want to fight each other, and the only reason Floyd isn't interested is because they are trying to make that fight. Im pretty sure Khan would be mayweathers plan B so why make it seem like hes ducking khan when he knows hes already negotiating with pacquiao and khan is a plan B.

Secondly, giving him a deadline until the end of the week is the dumbest thing he could do. If negotiations fall through with Pacquiao, Khan would obviously be the next choice for both mayweather and probably pacquiao too. Now he really is giving Mayweather an excuse to avoid him should the Pacquiao negotiations fall through. The negotiations aren't going to last forever. You mean to tell me you cant wait an extra 2 weeks to see what happens knowing full well you are probably both of their plan b's? He could have just shut his mouth and waited to see what happens and then moved on if they decide to fight each other. After all, he has been waiting and calling him out for 2 years or so and now when he is about to truly find out if theres a chance hes saying hes moving on. Lol how ****** can you possibly get?

So you cant really blame him for the principles of what he is doing, but he sure is going about everything in a full ****** manner.

His best shot is to keep his mouth shut, hope the pac/may negotiations fall through and that Cotto/canelo gets made so he's Floyd's only option.
Actually it was widely reported that his fight with alexander was his last on the contract. They even did an article on here I think yesterday to clarify that Amir Khan is indeed a promotional free agent.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if Khan or someone in Khans shoes who is signed to haymon but is a promotional free agent signs with Top Rank. After all, Arum is known to give free agents huge amounts of money and guarantees to fight pacquaio for signing with them. I think Khan wants the fame so bad he would sign with top rank to fight manny regardless of what Al Haymon thinks of it. Then Al Haymon would be forced to work with Top Rank so Khan can fight. That would be great for boxing if a situation like that occurred and actually forced Haymon to work with Top Rank or even Roc Nation.

Haymon needs to learn there will always be other promoters, so he should just learn to get along with them for the sake of the fans, because his fighters are losing fans and viewership at an alarming rate. He basically made Danny Garcia, Adonis Stevenson, and peter quillen into the joke of the sport when they used to be the kings of their divisions. Real fighters aren't going to fall for his big empty promises of getting them the big fights. Why do you think some of the biggest names like cotto, marquez, and tim Bradley keep working with top rank? Obviously because they can smell haymons b.s. from a mile away.

Now that Roc nation is on the scene and has signed Andre Ward and also bought out Gary Shaw promotions, and also due to the fact that he split with Golden boy, he should see that he is not going to just take over boxing completely. He is simply hurting the sport for no reason because top rank is a powerhouse and isn't going anywhere and that holds true for golden boy also. Now Roc Nation I THink is clearly going to become a major player. Same thing happened when they got into being agents for big time athletes. All the big names like robinson cano and Nudung Suh signed with Roc Nation. Its only a matter of time before many boxers start doing the same. Al Haymon can either learn to get along or be rendered irrelevant due to poor ratings and poor ticket sales. People don't want to pay top dollar for crap when its supposed to be a high class sport. People pay 70 dollars for ppv and thousands of dollars for ringside seats to watch the best fight the best. and unfortunately for Al Haymon, the majority of the best fighters do not fight for him. He only has 2 truly big stars, mayweather and now supposedly Chavez jr. After that you have fringe hype jobs broner Garcia and a handful of others.

The rest of the big stars are scattered with different promoters. Manny, cotto, marquez fight for top rank. Canelo fights for Golden Boy. Those are truly the only superstars of this sport. What is interesting is the guys that are going to take over when pacquiao and maywetaher retire don't fight for haymon. Mikey Garcia, Terance Crawford, Lomachenko, Walters, and the super middleweight Ramirez all fight for top rank. Those are truly future starts compared to the likes of broner and Garcia lol. Then of course you have GGG and Kovalev who don't fight for Haymon and they will be big ppv stars. Haymon really isn't in that great of a position when you think about it. He doesn't have the best talent, I would say that title belongs to Top Rank whether you like it or not.

The thing is Khan has a lot of speed and knows how to win rounds and could give Mayweather problems. Mayweather for years has been fighting slow flat footed fighters, so if he is going to take that leap of faith and fight someone who can actually give him problems, he may as well fight the guy who will triple his career high payday pacquiao.

I hate Mayweather and Khan equally, but I am also realistic. How can Mayweather be ducking Khan when he is negotiating with p4p number 2 fighter in the world Manny Pacquiao. That is not ducking, hes just doing what everyone else in the world wants him to do. Now if Pacquiao negotiations fall through and he didn't fight Khan, then you could say that he is ducking Khan.

Why are pacidiots so obsessed with talking about managers and promoters and the politics of the sport instead of talking about the boxers and the sport?
