Have a look at this thread:

    http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=639024

Stiverne pretty much laid out his plans, that he wants to just defend his title and isn't worried about unification. Not to mention his ignorant comment on 'All Access' where he said that he has the "Biggest title in history" (i'm paraphrasing, he said something like that), which is probably a mentality he ripped off of Floyd Mayweather who claims that the WBC belt is real World Title.

Im excited about this fight for sure. Im rooting for Stiverne, but I do believe that should Wilder win, a fight between WK and Wilder would be more competitive. (atleast on paper).

Should this fight go past round 6 I see Stiverne winning a last minute stoppage victory.

      Good fight, I believe!

Under normal circumstances, I would agree. But boxing is very much at a crossroads right now, especially in America. Boxing has been very fortunate over the last couple decades in that its had non-heavyweights like Oscar, Floyd, and Manny that were able to crossover into the mainstream and carry the sport. But boxing history shows that you usually need a dominant, exciting American heavyweight to keep the sport relevant in the mainstream. Wilder can be that guy, if he's legit. Canelo has star power, but he's not that good. GGG has some buzz. But, I highly doubt that he's gonna ever be popular enough to carry the sport as a non-heavyweight like Floyd and Manny have when they're done. If you're an American fight fan, you should be hoping like hell Deontay is legit. Yeah, its a paper title. But, the casual fans that need to be kept interested don't care. They don't know about, nor care about lineal, Ring magazine, universally recognized, or any other fancy name that the hardcore community uses to separate real champions from pretenders. All they know is that Deontay has KO'd everyone he's fought, and is fighting for a recognized world title. And that's something to get excited about.

On paper, stiverne vs Wlad would be more competitive than Wilder vs Wlad going by opposition. Wlad still bum rap3s both though

Not his 32-0 with 32ko's record with no big names on it, nor is it his never going past the 4round naw that doesn't scare me, but what really scares me with Wilder are how small his legs are, I am 5'8 - 170 ish and my legs are bigger than his! Dude has crab legs, oh he is definitely going to sleep, this is why he wears those 4foot long ass shorts - dude is out of here...

Actually the lineal championship really doesn't mean a whole lot. There have been a lot of bums that won the lineal championship in the past, and then continued to defend it against other bums. At least the regular belts have mandatory challengers that usually force champions to defend against a live body.

Look at when George Foreman was lineal champion by beating a bum. He defended it against more bums until he got beat by another bum in Shannon briggs. Lineal Champions don't mean a damn thing. Mayweather is lineal welterweight champion but he hasn't yet defended it against his nemesis Manny Pacquiao.

That being said as much as I want wilder to win and think that he will, its bittersweet because I know that Haymon wouldn't let him fight Wlad in a million zillion trillion phillion gargillion years. Yea I just went full toddler on you. He will win and continue to fight tomato cans for less money but guaranteed wins. Wlad would flatten him quicker than a toaster strudel.

Lineal championships are way too overated by the hardcore boxing community. There have been some serious bums that have been lineal champions in the past, and have defended it against more bums. At least belt holders are forced to fight Mandatory challengers or lose the belt. Also there is no one organization that declares lineal champions so therefore its really just a title in name only because other people could beg to differ who the real lineal champion is. Marquez I think was the last lineal lightweight champion, now there saying Crawford is by beating beltran. Well what if some people disagree with them being the best 2 lightweights? It's all a matter of opinion really so the alphabets are actually better because while they are still kind of opinion based, they earn their rankings based on wins and the quality of wins. Even though they don't do the best job its still better than just some made up title like the lineal champion.
