The boxing world was buzzing when news broke on Friday that Golden Boy Promotions and longtime business partner Al Haymon were going their separate ways.

A large portion of Haymon's stable was fighting under Golden Boy, but many of those fighters were not contractually bound to the company.

The terms of their separation were not revealed, but many of Golden Boy's biggest names (or at least the names which headlined their cards in recent years) are leaving with Haymon - like Danny Garcia, Adrien Broner, Deontay Wilder, Robert Guerrero, Keith Thurman, Errol Spence, Peter Quillin, Danny Jacobs and even Marcos Maidana. Only four of Haymon's fighters will remain with Golden Boy, because those fighters have actual promotional contracts with Oscar De La Hoya's company.

I don't know anything about the guy who wrote this article, but will someone tell me when have Peter Quillin and Danny Jacobs ever headlined a show? And when have Thurman and Wilder ever headlined a show that wasn't a Friday Night Fights caliber production?

Wow this whole time everyone thought golden boy was the power house in boxing, even Oscar thought they were lol but thanks to the snakes shaefer haymon and mayweather they are realistically a B level promotional company now lol seriously only 4 haymon fighters? Oh well at least there good and I hope it means he can match khan and mathysse against whomever he wants without asking haymon. I also hope he got his 50 million because realistically that would have been worth all that because he still has some stars and keeps signing great prospects like lemiuex. Hopefully arum and Oscar team up to make haymon even more irrelvent. Think about it after mayweather retired who can possibly fill his void? There are no superstars because they keep facing bums. You need fighters to beat top level opposition for years before you can have a ppv star. Maybe Chavez Jr but hes going to get crushed against any top super middleweight

All it takes is for a fighter to land one good punch (Maidana and Mosley) to almost KO Mayweather in the eyes of the geniuses on this message board. I find it odd how those guys who almost KO'd Mayweather with one punch never actually KO'd him (like Marquez did to Pacquiaio with one punch) and lost every round after the alleged almost KO.
