    A source with knowledge of the details has advised BoxingScene.com that Golden Boy Promotions has reached an agreement in principle with dangerous middleweight contender David Lemieux (33-2, 31 KOs).

    BoxingScene.com had reported on Friday that Lemieux was officially a free agent after his promotional contract had come to end with longtime promoter Yvon Michel of GYM.

      Cool move. I thought he'd get swallowed up by Haymon and his satanic minions. At least he'll get an Alvarez fight more easily now.

                  No al haymon is boxings dumping grounds for fighters who want to face mismatched opponents to pad their records. David lemieux seems like the type who actually wants to become a star by beating tough opposition, rather than settle for mediocre opponents thus always being considered B level fighters. Adrian broker is a prime example.

                  Now that golden boy is working with top rank they could also make cotto and Andy lee fights. Good move by pepe lepuiux

                    Good move by David. He is now a far more experienced fighter and can take the pressure. Obviously, Oscar sees good opportunities in the near future. Lemieux wants a world title and is not afraid of anyone.
