Comments Thread For: Roach Admits Pacquiao's "Plan B" Options Are Limited

Veteran trainer Freddie Roach, who guides WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, is crossing his fingers that a deal gets finalized for a mega pay-per-view showdown against WBC/WBA champion Floyd Mayweather Jr.

There are ongoing negotiations to make Mayweather-Pacquiao in the coming months. If for whatever reason the Mayweather fight falls through, Roach admits the usually long list of backup options is pretty limited at this point.

Since Oscar has Lucas for one more fight, make a fight with Pac at 140.

Yeah, sure why not. Would be a good fight. It seems if Mayweather doesn't fight Pacquiao, than he'll fight Khan. That's really Floyd's only options at this point. Unless he somehow has a rematch with Cotto, than they could just do Pacquiao vs. Khan. That's the second biggest fight Pacquiao could have at this point.

Not true Pacquiao could have almost any fight he wants. It's him that accepts the mismatches Arum is offering.

there are just too many obstacles for fights with Khan or Garcia. Haymon doesnt seem keen on Garcia fighting Pac. its Mayweather or bust at this point, a plan B would be a poison pill: bad publicity and low PPV sales

If Floyd and Manny had fought already they could be fighting bums and tuneups and making stars out of nobodies. Instead we're stuck criticizing every last opponent because they haven't fought each other and everybody knows that Floyd and Manny are better than everyone else.

"Limited" is an understatement! Manny needs Mayweather/Haymon like never before, or he needs Crawford ASAP! Vargas is not getting it done!

If the Mayweather vs Paquiao fight doesn't happen, and I hope it does. I would like to see Hoya give the opportunity to Khan or Matthysse to step up against Paquiao. They have earn it more then Vargas but that's up to Arum.
