Comments Thread For: Roach: Canelo Won't Be Pretty Boy After Cotto is Done!

Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach is predicting a lot of pain and punishment, if WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32KOs) is able to get Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (44-1-1, 31KOs) in the ring. There are ongoing negotiations for a fight between Cotto and Canelo for the lucrative Cinco De Mayo date of May 2nd.

I'd have to agree with Roach on this one. I think Cotto can actually stop Canelo if he goes to the body early. Looking forward to this matchup.

Canelo will never be the same after the brutal beating Cotto's going to give him. Canelo should just start looking into life after boxing already. Maybe he can work on his promotional company or something cuz his days as atop fighter will be over after Cotto annihilates him.

What the hell does Mayweather have to do with Canelo/Cotto. Nothing is more ridiculous to here people on this site to bring up Mayweather in a non Mayweather thread.

Now to my point, Canelo isn't a broken down Martinez, not an old faded Mosley, or a overrated Trout. Canelo will destroy Cotto.... Cotto won't run, and that's his downfall. He will go in their trying to take out a young 20 years old and Canelo will be more than willing to trade shots. Cotto has beaten up to many times and has taken unnecessary punishment in his past.

I'm going with Canelo by Devastating Knock Out. I believe after this lose, Cotto will retire.

Well at least they did't get beat up. They lost by points, you know like tennis or basketball.

What has Cotto got to annihilate Canelo. He is the smaller opposition, he also doesn't belong at middleweight, his skills have diminished ALOT, and he isn't going to hold the power over Canelo. Canelo doesn't have two broken legs like Martinez and Canelo still has a pulse.

There is nothing I see Cotto having to make it a easy or even seeing a KO from Cotto. Fans of Cotto's are delusional and Canelo haters have allowed ignorance to take over.

This is a damn good scrap! I give Cotto the edge because of experience, but not by much. Nelo throws good uppercuts and Miguel is WIDE OPEN for them.

Cotto vs Canelo is a 2 fight classic. They can fight on Cinco De Mayo and in December both on PPVs.
