  • Comments Thread For: Froch Hints That He'll Continue Beyond a Chavez Fight

As previously reported, Carl Froch has revealed that negotiations over his dream showdown with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in Las Vegas are nearing completion. WBA and IBF super-middleweight champion Froch has sought a meeting with Chavez Jr since stopping George Groves for the first time in November 2013 and is now confident that promoter Eddie Hearn will deliver the fight.

If Froch does not secure the fight with Chavez, he is threatening to retire. If he does get Chavez, and beats him in style, he doesn't rule out the idea of fighting on for a while.

I agree. Although the Chavez or bust thing with him is growing a little tiresome. seems that there is at least 1 article posted per day on this site about this guy contemplating retirement.

Depends how Froch feels when he fights Chavez, if it happens. If he's still fresh, and he can get Ward to come to the UK, I think he could beat him. It's not like Ward dominated or hurt Froch. I've seen guys win rematches after worse defeats than that first time around and Froch has a good record with rematches. He was far better second time around against Kesslar and Groves.
