Comments Thread For: Gradovich-Selby: Hearn Pushing To Land in The UK

Promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that negotiations are underway for mandatory challenger Lee Selby to take on IBF featherweight champion Evgeny Gradovich this spring.

The Welsh star dispatched Australian Joel Brunker inside nine rounds to land the shot at the Californian-based Russian, who has defended the title four times since wrestling it from Billy Dib in November 2013.

The IBF sent letters out on December 31 ordering the IBF champion to begin negotiations with mandatory challenger, and Hearn believes the slick Barry stylist will land the title, and will be aiming for that to happen on British soil.

Well his ring name is El Ruso Mexicano and he trains out of Robert Garcias gym but I don't think he actually spends his days pretending to actually be Mexican.

I actually like Gradovich - guys tough has a good engine and deceptive skills, certainly he always comes to fight and should have got the nod against Velez. I think he should be able to get the better of Selby, but I can see him being vulnerable to getting another bad decision on the cards.

Is Velez one of Al Haymon protegees? Because otherwise I don't understand how Gradovich wasn't the right winner of that fight.

Gradovich should tell Hearn to rotate! He's the champion(or rather titlist)& should therefore call the shots!!

Money talks. Plus Selby would beat Gradovich anywhere.

You realise we're on about Lee Selby vs Gradovich in a boxing ring and not Stephen Selby taking on Gradovich at snooker?

What the **** are you talking about? Just wait and see, Selby will box that feather fisted Russians ears off, he try's to braw but has zero power and Selby will expose him.
