Comments Thread For: Simpiwe Vetyeka Chasing Nicholas Walters Showdown

The camp of South African fighter Simpiwe Vetyeka has decided on his next step and it wants him to challenge WBA featherweight champion Nicholas Walters.

However Walters' promoter Bob Arum is reportedly reluctant to match the Jamaican against “V12” preferring to let him unify with WBO champion Vasyl Lomachenko instead.

Vetyeka got back to the win column when he scored a one sided points decision over Mexican Arturo Santos Reyes in East London last month.

Vetyeka deserves a shot to get his belt back after it was robbed from him

Jhonny wants to see if he can get a fight with Marez or even Santa Cruz first. A fight with Walters will be worth a little more later on.

Walters' people actually wanted Vetyeka before Gonzalez and Lomachenko anyways.

This would be a great fight. I really hope Arum moves out of the way and lets Walters earn a few more notches under his belt as well as Loma so when they do face off it could be even more epic. However, I hope he doesn't over-marinate it to the point where the fight decomposes before our eyes.

Walters vs Vetyeka is awesome! V12 deserves a shot, seeing as how Donaire stated he would give him a rematch but didn't keep his word.

Walters via KO in the mid to late rounds.

Good match-up, would be happy to see this before unification fights.

Vetyeka is better than the Donut-Air fight showed him to be. Vs Walters it would be a great matchup, and probably wouldn't be one-sided. Still think Walters wins, but not as easily as he beat Donut.
