Hate the deadline..If Arum, Top Rank, Pacquiao, were smart, they would say we aren't going anywhere until Floyd agrees to the fight. We have all the time in the world. That would back Floyd's coward ass into a corner as far as the public is concerned. By giving this so called deadline, this gives Floyd time to stall and just let the deadline pass.

Those sources are from what they are being told from Arum. A person as pigheaded and arrogant as Floyd a deadline isn't going to get him to move faster. As far a promotion they can make the fight for next week and it will still be the biggest fight in history. They just need to announce the fight anything after that is extra.

My main point is not about promoting, it is about preparation and it goes without saying that Pac would need more time to fight Floyd which would be early May, whereas Pac could be ready to fight another opponent in April. As to a deadline, everything has a deadline. Floyd cannot be given an indefinite time to respond to all the efforts being made right now to put the fight on and if he really wants to fight Pac, then he should understand the need to move forward and respond to what would be the greatest payday for an athlete in the history of sports. It is hard to imagine Floyd being nonchalant about such huge "Money". If he is acting that way, ego is more important than money. And I don't think anyone knows which one rules over the other since we cannot read Floyds mind. We have to hear from him, hopefully soon.

Why is Pac in a rush to fight anyone else?

If they feel like the negotiations arent going anywhere and they are being played, then sure move on. But whats the deadline for when you are in the process of negotiating everything? As it is, wouldnt you rather they take whatever time they need to come to an agreement?

Lets not pretend that Pac has anyone to move on to.

A) who knows if Cotto has signed. B) No one is in a rush, it is called getting an answer so that a plan B can take place. C) As to the process of negotiating, if Floyd is dragging, then there should be a deadline because that puts everyone in limbo. And "whatever time needed" is only within reason. Whatever does not mean waiting to receive no word from Floyd for an eternity. If Floyd has been silent, then silence is not golden, it does nothing to show where the situation is at. Floyd needs to sht or get off the pot, if what is being circulated is true.
