IBF junior flyweight champion Javier “Cobra” Mendoza (22-2-1, 18 KOs) will not be making a title defense on Saturday night at the Auditorio Municipal in Tijuana. Zanfer Promotions issued a release which stated that his scheduled fight with Mauricio Fuentes (17-3, 11 KOs) will not have the IBF world title at stake. Mendoza will however have to defend his title in the coming months against mandatory challenger Milan Melindo of the Philippines.

Glad he has to defend against Melindo though. Good luck to Mendoza but I think El Metodico acquires his first belt. Who know though, one punch from Mendoza could seal the deal.
