    Rocky Juarez Interview: "It's happening"...

    EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: ROCKY JUAREZ
    By Brad Cooney

**********.com just spoke with the Rocky Juarez and talked about what is in his own words as "it's happening". Rocky Juarez told **********.com that he spoke with Shelly Finkel, and Shelly told him " The fight's going to happen, the only thing that's missing is the venue".

BT - Rocky thanks for updating **********.com on this breaking news.

RJ - Thanks for having me Brad.

BT - I want to jump right into this, what's the latest with the Marco Antonio Barrera situation?

RJ - Well Shelly Finkel told me that the fight is happening, and the only thing missing is the venue. Once he told me this news, I got very excited and wanted to get into the gym right away.

BT - Rocky have you signed a contract yet?

RJ - No contract signed yet, but I haven't signed a contract since I turned professional personally. I should though, I should be at least guaranteed something in case he backs out two weeks before the fight, or something. I have never signed a contract for a fight this far out, only like a week before. Basically my manager tells me my purse, and where im fighting.

BT - Rocky, both sides have agreed on the purse money, and it's only a matter of finding the right venue, is that safe to say?

    RJ - Yes

BT - Some of the venues that have been mentioned as possibilities are Corpus Christi, Laredo, El Paso, Houston, and Los Angeles Staples Center, can you comment on this?

RJ - I don't think Houston is the venue because that would be home-field advantage for me, so I don't think they would accept it there. I fought in Corpus Christi before, and it's big enough. I think all Latino fans, and boxing fans would support the fight there, and in El Paso as well.

BT - Did you ever think you would get this opportunity ?

RJ - Yes actually I did, It's like Karma, I felt it would happen one day. I was ranked number 1 for a long time, and never was given an opportunity like this. When I fought Zahir Raheem, after that he kind of vanished. Zahir comes back and beat Morales, a major upset. I thought he would give Morales a tough fight, but I didn't think he could beat him the way he did. I kind of had a feeling that something similar to that was going to happen for me, and it's happening now.

BT - What all did Shelly Finkel tell you?

RJ - Well he told me a week ago that it was looking good. I started training a week ago as if it was a done deal, I was happy when he said ' It's going to happen'. Shelly told me that he agreed, and that Marco Antonio Barrera has agreed. Shelly told me 'It's happening', so that's all I need to hear.

BT - Rocky how are you feeling about all of this?

RJ - I am confident, I am pumped, and I am in full steam ahead mode to fight Marco Antonio Barrera.

BT - Where would you think the venue will be Rocky?

RJ - I am thinking either El Paso, or Los Angeles - either place will have a good Rocky Juarez crowd, and a good Marco Antonio Barrera crowd.

BT - Rocky, talk to your fans.

RJ - I want to tell my fans that I have the ability to beat Barrera, I am blessed to get this opportunity. As a fighter, I feel I have worked very hard my whole career, I feel I can compete against the top fighters in the world. Barrera is a great champion, I look up to him. I am fighting a legend in boxing, and I am very excited.

BT - Rocky is there anything you want to say to Marco Antonio Barrera?

RJ - THANK YOU - thank you for giving me this shot, I am looking forward to it.\

Thanks for the interview. I have a feeling Rocky is going to upset Barrera. He and some people are underestimating Juarez.

Yes, their was extermly high hopes. But I think that lose to Soto seems to have made him a better fighter. Since his last few fights have not been on television, I heard he now starts fast and has lead to ko wins.

In that fight with Soto he fell inlove with his left hook and forgot about body punching or combination punching. Yeah, Barrera can taking him from the outside, but if Juarez comes in strong and with body punchs, him and Barrera are going to war. Juarez has the power to hang with Barrera and combinations to stay with Barrera. Which is why I belive it will be an upset in Juarez favor.

I think Barrera will start off outboxing Juarez, then around the 6th he will start rocking Juarez with power shots. MAB KO 9
