Comments Thread For: Milan Melindo to For IBF World Crown on March 28th

Milan “El Methodico” Melindo, the technically sound former flyweight challenger who lost in his bid to wrest the WBO title from WBO/WBA champion Juan Francisco Estrada, the tough and talented Mexican who won the titles from former two-division world champion Brian Viloria, will get a crack at the IBF light flyweight title on March 28 in the Philippines.

Following his loss to Estrada, Melindo went down to light flyweight and has had no problems making the weight.

This is going to be a war. I think Milan Melindo could easily outbox Mendoza but I could see Javier clipping him with a good shot in one of their exchanges. I have Melindo winning by UD in a hard earned fight but Mendoza has a punchers chance.

Melindo is a good fighter and fun to watch. Nice style. His fight with Estrada is an underrated win for Estrada and shows just how good Estrada is I think. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Melindo wins this one, but it'll be a hard fight.

        Looking forward to it.

I honestly think Mendoza would need a KO regardless of where the fight takes place, and Javier is more than able to deliver a definitive blow. Milan Melindo is fast, technical, can string together punches beautifully and can counter effectively by exploding with speed... To top it all off he has homecourt advantage. I like both fighters and although I would love to see mi compa raise his hand in glory, I like Milan a lot as well and wouldn't be upset if he finally achieved his dream of capturing a world Title.
