That was Mosley who manhandled Margarito because he was physically strong enough, had the stamina to implement that style, on top of that he was a better puncher than Maidana, better hand speed, also more durable. That was his last great performance. Bad comparison really.

Mosley, my favourite fighter, was also on peds. Throw in the psychological aspect of getting caught and it's no shock Tony got his ass kicked and that's after taking about 100 clean shots. Margarito, even without plaster, would be too much for maidana. I'm amazed at how underrated he is on here, not to say he's a legend, but he was pretty good.

It would be a phone booth type fight with the heavy size and power advantage towards Margarito.

I've seen Chino gas multiple times, i've never seen Margarito gas except when he was getting wrecked by pac and mosley. The instant chino shows any kind of weakness, Margarito's going to put in work and lay down that pressure.

It would be close in the first half, both fighters landing their shots with the momentum steadily going in margarito's favor as the fight progresses.

The difference in size is too much, plus Margarito was one of very few fighters who kept up such an incredible work rate at the highest level. Margarito stood up to big punchers, bigger than Maidana, i.e. Cintron.

The whole plaster thing is always going to be one of these big question marks, but that to one side and this is a mismatch, Margarito by mid round stoppage, probably from a body shot.

Im not even going to mention the plaster use cause we already know what it is, and presumably what it was for past fights! Now to the actual fight, margarito is a huge ww at his peak and a very strong one at that, before the mosely debacle marg. Was credited with having one of the best chins in boxing, i mean he would have probably taken klitchkos punches! LOL He wasnt very good technically but he had enough skills mixed with great stamina and heart to beat anyone on any given night.

Maidana is a warrior who matches marg. Very well in every category pretty much except durability and stamina imo.....maidana has nevrr fought a guy as big or strong as marg...i dont think he would of hurt tony and would have succumbed to hard body shots and uppercuts down the stretch wherr i would see maidana get koed, quit on the stool or have the corner throw in the towel!! It would of been a hell of a war though!

He beat clottey, antonio diaz, sergio martinez, hercules, kamau, lewis, randall,cintron, golden johnson....thats a pretty good run if you ask me.
