Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Trainer: Soon Their Excuses Will Run Out!

It's not easy to secure an opponent for WBA/IBO/WBC-interim middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (31-0, 28KOs). He returns on February 21 in Monaco against WBC silver champion Martin Murray (29-1-1, 12KOs).

Golovkin tried to get a fight with Felix Sturm for several years without success. He failed in getting Sergio Martinez and Peter Quillin in the ring for a unification. For now, WBC champion Miguel Cotto has little interest in the fight. And discussions to face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. fell apart.

This guy is a monster, it's going to be hard to find him opponents. Unless he moves up a weight class.

Their excuses have already run out. Cotto is the real champ, but he reminds me of Floyd Patterson dodging Sonny Liston. Patterson just ducked his number one threat longer than Cotto has. Perhaps Cotto has earned one easier defense, but no excuse for not facing Golovkin some time in 2015.

Mr. Sanchez : As Clay/Ali paved the way for big Money in fights, ONE named JR has paved the way for others to make EXCUSES.

I have Never seen the Excuses and spin to get out of fights as I have in the past ten years.

Its like if Jr can do it , I CAN. I am hopeful that GGG fights the winner of COTTO and Canelo for da title, this year !!!!

I thought Jr was in a boxed in corner, but Jr has taken excuses to a new level so don't be surprised if those guys you mention keep making excuses. BARF!

Canelo would fight him I think. He seems like an honorable person with his recent choices in fights. He fought Lara because the fans wanted him to. So he will do the same with GGG as long as the fans request it in 2015.

No mention of Erislandy Lara as an opponent?

Erislandy Lara will be an opponent who will take the fight for sure? Why they don't mention it as a worthy opponent? They saw the fight between him and Canelo, then based on that either one is a good opponent although business wise will be different.
