Comments Thread For: Tarver Confident He Would Drill David Haye 'Out Cold'

Former five-time world champion Antonio ‘Magic Man’ Tarver has called out Haye, who says he is ready to return after a two-year absence.

American Tarver is still fighting at the ripe old age of 46 and knocked out Jonathan Banks earlier this month.

He sees a bout with former two-weight world champ Haye as a stepping stone to a clash with heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko, who holds four belts.

Tarver is out of his mind. Say what you want about David Haye but the man is one of the hardest punchers in the entire sport and has tremendous speed and skill. I respect Tarver's career but he would get ktfo in 2-3 rounds if he actually fights Haye.

Tarver is 46 and has been in the game since 1997, but his only unavenged losses are Hopkins and Dawson. Pretty impressive. I think Haye would hand him his first stoppage loss though.

How long it's been since Haye fought? He's wasting what should have been his prime years. He could have rematched Klitschko by now if he had stayed active.

I don't expect much from Tarver. Haye would be the first to knock him out.

Am I the only who thinks the fight would be interesting? Tarver beat Jones who is an in-and-out type of fighter with great athleticism a decade ago. I think Haye is a similar type of fighter. If Tarver trains for it, and gets in shape I think it would be competitive. In Tarver's fight with Kayode he showed (despite drawing, and testing positive for peds) that he is not a fully shot old man. I can't judge much from his fight with Banks (not sure if Banks is motivated to fight anymore).

Tarver gets laid out inside 5.

Sorry, but Haye is better than him at everything. Tarver is fine when he is the bigger guy and can stay behind that long jab, even that advantage is gone against Haye.

Haye is FAR bigger, faster, more skilled, hits way Harder...people also seem to forget that Haye took a few massive shots from Wlad without flinching. Tarver has nothing for Haye, he'll get splattered early.
