Comments Thread For: Golovkin Hoping To Land The Big PPV Names in 2015

In 2015, WBA/IBO/WBC interim-middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (31-0, 28KOs) hopes to finally make his debut on pay-per-view. Golovkin's popularity has grown over the last twelve months, but he's still having a lot of trouble securing fights with some of the bigger names in the middleweight division.

He returns on February 21 in Monaco against WBC silver champion Martin Murray. Golovkin wants to fight at least four times in 2015. He hopes one of the bigger names decides to fight him.

Chavez jr fight is basically the same as paying 60$ to see GGG work the heavybag

What I'm interested in is what GGG's team do if Canelo is off the menu this year.

      Floyd? Not fighting him.

      Cotto? Not fighting him.

So either they work really hard to find some interesting opponent in the 154-160 neighbourhood, or they move up. They can't spend another year beating Macklins and Geales. Not if they want to make big money at least.

No Canelo, no party for GGG.

Honestly the only one I'd want to see is GGG vs Froch.

I'd take Froch over Cotto and Canelo.

Cotto gets destroyed, and Cotto would be the battle for stardom but if GGG stopped Froch that'd be a huge statement.

Fan of Golovkin, not a fan of PPV. Why do we have to shell out extra for fights we want? What we've been getting from Mayweather and Pacquiao PPVs are **** anyway.

Better hope he gets Canelo or Cotto then. Chavez Jr. would be a PPV fight too. That's it though.

Completely disagree. GGG is nothing special other than his knockout power. Strip him of that and he is a very basic fighter. Not a Chavez jr fan but I believe the style of these two would match up perfectly as neither fighter would have to look for the other possibly giving us a real barn burner.

For having no amateur background and learning on the job, Chavez jr has done very well. GGG would be the favorite but Chavez jr would surprise a lot of people.
