If Floyd fought and beat Cotto, he'd be the lineal champion in 3 weight divisions simultaneously; welterweight, junior middleweight, and middleweight.

    Just think about it.

And be considered by his minions as too small to defend the 154, and 160 belts against actual jr middleweights and middleweights.

Winning it doesn't mean **** if you don't intend to defend it.

Floyd's victories over Cotto and Canelo established him as not only the lineal champion of the junior middleweight division, but the undisputed best fighter at that weight as well.

I do agree that the lineal designation at MW would be hollow without defeating other actual MWs, but it would be his 6th weight class, hard to hold that against him. Plus the historical perspective would be insane, 11 titles in 6 weight classes, 6 lineal titles in 5 weight classes.

With that said, I prefer Mayweather-Pacquiao first and foremost.

Not even. Baldomir at least stood behind his 147 lineal/Ring championship and 8 year winning streak. It was also a guy Floyd was accused of ducking by the media and fans of that time.

Its not about meaning , Cotto is a superstar Vargas is C level , the Manny fanboys are so delusional Algeiri was a C grader and Vargas is another one , to even speak of them in the same breath as Cotto is an insult to Cotto , geez there are some dimwits in here .

Cotto looked alive in there and won some rounds then faded Vargas has looked like dog **** against B level opponents he has no business fighting at the elite level. Other than to get smacked and put in his place, Pac would tear that ass up.

I hope you feel the same about Pacquiao's Lightweight and Jr Middleweight belts.

He also never defended his junior lightweight belt or his lineal junior welterweight belt.

This is like asking if you'd rather get shot in the left leg,or the right leg...
