I like Lara, but he got his 'big fight' this year and kinda blew it by flat out refusing to provide any entertainment to the thousands of drunk Mexicans who were paying his purse.

It was a close fight, but he was really disappointing. He threw away the momentum he had built up coming into that fight. I think he'll be waiting a while to get another opportunity like that.

Lara got his biggest payday when fighting Canelo. Lara wasn't there for the "win", I guess...

(Canelo Alvarez was set to pocket $3 million to $7million in his PPV event fight against Erislandy Lara. The purse split was believed to be around 70/30 in favour of Canelo Alvarez.)

I agree that he beat canelo 7-5 but they way he was talking before the fight and the confidence he has vs these fighters he mentions, he better do more fighting than running.

One time would knock him out.

this guy has no control over his own style. he saw that alvared was swinging for the fences and leaving himself wide open, and Lara did'nt do crap about .although Lara connected more he made himself look bad. alvared did'nt win the fight.

Golovkin/Lara would be nice, but it's probably unrealistic. Too many issues to prevent it. And moving up to middleweight wouldn't present much opportunity for Lara, I highly doubt he gets a chance to school Quillin or Jacobs.

It's still depressing to think about all this time later. Lara was clearly the better man that night, but he let it slip right through his fingers. If he actually let his hands go in 2 or 3 more rounds, it would have been a clear win. Instead he was on the bad end of a fight that could have gone either way.

As long as his fans say nothing he and his team will do nothing..
For real. I would like to see how GGG deals with Lara at 154.
