Japanese guys are historically a force to be reckoned at the lower weights, somebody who knows more than I about boxing history could probably elaborate more, but boxing is obviously rather big in Japan.

the viewing numbers are all Japanese cheering on their boy. Japanese to me are just getting into boxing do not have a long history of it. what rigo did is what some older fighters did which is go to Europe and beat up those fighters

Some people here seem to be confusing defense with chin resistance.

Rigo has a great defense and an average chin, that's why he gets knocked down more than you would expect him to. He still has an amazing defense, one of the best in boxing.

Brandon Rios has a terrible defense, one of the worst in boxing, yet he's able to stay on his feet because he has an iron chin.

So just because Rigo gets knocked down doesn't mean he has a bad defense.
