difference being pernell was a lot more offensive minded that rigo. **** so is floyd for that matter. rigo's problem is his defense. he relies too heavily on it.

On to round 6...Rigo is being a bit more offensive than usual, which is definitely a plus.

Waaaaay too left hand reliant, and I don't get it. He has a sharp counter right, why doesn't he use it more often to initiate his offense?

He is what he is at this point, though. What that is will be very hard to beat.

Yes, I agree, but that wasn't my argument, I'm saying he's a great defensive fighter. Rigo was pretty offensive in this fight though, check it out if you haven't watched it.

It's not that he's limited, rather fighting to please.
What you saw last night from Rigo is typical of what you see from many Cuban fighters who turned pro. Cuban fighters are excellent technicians. They know the science of boxing extremely well. However once they get to the pros they realize that their style is not very liked, and simply doesn't translate to big time fights. So what ends up happening is they either retire and find something else in boxing, or they're forced to change their style. They're forced to fight in a manner they're not comfortable fighting in and many get dropped and even stopped.

Having said that though, Rigo put on a hell of a performance. Getting up from being down twice and the taking it to his opponent after that was amazing. This performance might get him back on showtime or HBO against a quality opponent. Hopefully it happens.

RIght before the kd I know exactly what Rigo was thinking "Im so far no way he could catch me w......oh ****"

Rigo was having issues all through with the 7 inch height disadvantage he was game and being aggressive anyways he had to mostly given up on the body work early they where landing low by the time they got there and he wasn't hitting the guy hard because the same was happening to the head. But if he was asleep by the 7th that kd woke his ass up didn't loose another round. You can tell the exact moment when Rigo turns on God mode cheat on the 11th he started practicing combo's mid way and **** for him all fights are always sparring sessions lol

If they loved him in Japan before now they're in love.

In other news, I think it's funny how people are keen on dissing Rigo for having a "glass chin". The man looked like he was fighting a giant and not only did he get up from the KD, he dominated and stopped his opponent. Just like he got up and dominated Donaire. Maybe the guy is fighting bigger opposition and his skill allows him to overcome the size difference? Crazy, he could be one of the most talented boxers of all time and people act like he is some chump....smh.
don't forget lucas also has a glass chin according to NSB for the same reasons

wasn't aware of this fight, gonna check it out now.

He got hit clean very, very little. Entire rounds went by where Amagasa didn't hit Rigo with anything effective. But NSB is going to act like he was getting hit a lot because he got knocked down and that he's not one of the absolute best defensive fighters in the sport. Maybe the best.

This site is really annoying me lately. My tolerance for the bull**** isn't very high right now.

The size difference was comical. Amagasa with his knees bent still only had Rigo up to his neck.
