Because the Cotto fight pays more and he has a better chance of winning it.

Against GGG he would be getting paid comparative peanuts and be giving away size and power.

I can't see oscar letting him take that fight. Lara was risky enough. But when Canelo moves up to middleweight (and he will, you can't have 155 catchweights forever) it will be hard to avoid him

Well, maybe you should be asking the middle weight champ (Cotto) why he isn't stopping all this back and forth with Canelo and fighting the other MW champ GGG.

That's what a lot of people don't get, the young buck has a lot of options. HE wants a mega fight but he can and will get paid to fight anyone in the ring against him. Cotto isn't in that same position, so he should really make a decision quick or Canelo will step away and fight any of the other 154 pound guys, leaving Cotto to beg Mayweather for a rematch.

Canelo insists on imposing his size on others, its that simple.

            Can GGG even make 155?

Because middleweight Canelo is terrified and wants little Cotto to fight GGG for him. I love how dudes claim "warrior" all the time but want NO part of GGG.

Absolutely. He tried it with Floyd and realized he was just an overpaid sparring partner. "peeleft:

Bite your tongue! Canelo is a PPV star! Just ask anybody who posts on this message board. He was single-handedly responsible for 2.2 million PPVs against Mayweather, 325,000 against Angulo and 200,000 against Lara. Surely, he can convince 100,000 suckers (I mean fans) to pay $70 for this fight.

Because the Cotto negotiations are still in progress. If the fight doesn't get made, then maybe GGG is an option

Its disrespectful to Mexicans to have their favorite fighter destroyed on cinco de mayo weekend.
