If the fight is NOT announced, Canelo will fight a "tune up" and cotto will fight a "tune up". But if that happens, contractually, cotto cannot fight canelo after that tune up. He was ordered by the wbc, to fight ONE FIGHT, then GGG. So cotto either fights canelo in may, or fight a "tune up" then GGG. or just vacate and go back down to 154 lbs.

That's actually incorrect. Cotto was given the option of 1 voluntary fight to defend the WBC title at middleweight, but he was not given a time frame, so Cotto could go down to 154 for a non-title fight then move back up to defend against Canelo, which as it stands seems highly likely.
