Is Deontay Wilder (32-0, 32 KO) comparable to a 20 year old Iron Mike?

tyson fought whoever was available, it was just a matter of time before he got the big fights and pretty much everybody knew he would murder anybody in his way. wilder is a ****in chump. you put a decent HW in front of him and he'll struggle. you put a mike tyson in front of him he gets murdered. thats the difference. tyson was a monster, he didnt cherry pick his opponents. wilder is a cherry picking chump who tries to pad his record in order to make money and get a title shot. hes not interested in belts, he just wants klit money like all the other untalented HWs out there calling him out. its just a ******ed comparison. theres hundreds of fighters out there with a perfect record, that doesnt mean there are a hundred tysons out there

If I was going to compare Wilder to a past great heavyweight I would go for Foreman because that comparison while still flawed at least makes sense.

Foreman was a big tall powerful southern dude who for all the power he could generate was very crude. Despite amateur success such crude looks against suspect pro opposition even destroying the scrubs, leaves people asking questions.

The obvious difference is Foreman answered those questions while Wilder has not even been asked in the slightest bit yet, but pre Frazier Foreman I could at least see that being something to write about.

If Wilder could just develop a Liston jab and foot movement he could make easy work of guys like Fury and Joshua.

He needs to show us more than the usual haymakers on Jan. 17.

A young Tyson was way more explosive then any version of wilder in history! Past, present or future.

Even Tyson's run of bums is far superior to Wilder's run of bums ,not to mention Tyson was still a teenager and was so ahead of Wilder in terms of physical gifts and skills, it's laughable.

Tyson goes beyond a record. His demeanor, persona, skills, style... He was just a one of a kind monster. I do understand where you are coming from though, but Tyson is a boxing icon in every sense of the word. Wilder isn't half as impressive as Tyson was during his prime (when Cus was still alive and had him focused).

Has Wilder ever fought a real boxer ? His biggest name to date is Charlie Z Malik Scott took a dive so I don't count him

Its funny when you realize Tyson took TWO years to get 27 fights in before fighting for the title. Fighters these days progress slow as hell.

                      Exactly,

Tyson's professional debut was in 1985 and fought for a title in Nov. 1986.

Wilder's pro debut was in 2008 ,what the author of this article forgot to mention is that it took Wilder 6 years to do what Tyson did in less than 2 years.
