Comments Thread For: Rigondeaux: Other Champs Running Scared From Me

OSAKA, Japan -- After enduring a frustrating year in which he has fought only once, unified world super bantamweight champion Guillermo "The Jackal" Rigondeaux (14-0, 9 KOs) is prepared to defend his World Boxing Organization (WBO) title belt this Wednesday, New Year's Eve, against WBO No. 6 rated challenger Hisashi Amagasa (28-4-2, 19 KOs) at Bodymaker Colosseum in Osaka, Japan.

Rigondeaux, who resides in Miami, is also the World Boxing Association (WBA) Super and The Ring Magazine super bantamweight champion.

Yep, all of them are avoiding Rigo.

So much for wanting to 'be the best', these guys are only looking to get money in safe fights. Sad thing is a lot of fans have no problem when fighters duck Rigo, because 'he's boring'...it's complete nonsense.

Yeah yeah... stay in Japan bum lol. Nobody cares about you, only Unimas. Have fun over there lolz. You are boring and a chicken, the sport is treating you like the trash you are, you are being forgotten into the depths of boxing hell. The big names have all decided to shun you and destroy your career, you will not steal more money from boxing you clown. Very happy to see Rigo suffering and struggling like this Hehe.

NO need to remind us the whole world of boxing is well aware everyone else at 122 is avoiding the plague because they know they would get dismantled and embarrassed.

The fear must be very strong rarely do you hear of people avoiding a pound for pound king of a division fighter so much he is supposed to have challengers left and right but they feel so hopelessly outmatched that they tip toe around him in quite the amusing fashion if I may add .

Leo Santa Cruz just fought a part time janitor and Quigg beat some Japanese bum yet fans give them a pass for ducking Rigo (the #1 rated champ @ 122) because they conceive him as "boring" just because Arum did. Rigo got blackballed by boxing ever since he schooled Nonito and abruptly ended the lovefest HBO was having with him. Now he's paying the price.

My curiosity is why individuals hype Lomo, who didn't do much but run from Russell and yet display hatred for Rigondeaux. Personally I find it ironic.

Rigondeaux is possibly the most Interesting boxer to watch because of his skill... I'm not saying the most entertaining but the most interesting because of his reflex, speed and accuracy.

It's interesting how so many hide from Rigondeaux and how many people downplay his exceptional skill set. Only hypocrites like "Golovkin" who praise one fighter and hate another for no real reason; outside of "he doesn't entertain me". If you don't enjoy the different areas and skills it takes to be a great boxer; you shouldn't be watching the sport.

Well, they can't fight what they can't catch, unless the money is good

Well said. If HBO or Arum says something; fanboys are quick to follow. You have Mayweather, the biggest paid athlete and the most targeted fighter in recent history... And you have Rigondeaux the top fighter at 122, with Amazing skill (that in some views surpass Mayweather) and yet the most disrespected/most feared boxer in recent history. It's ironic and systematically the most frustrating part of the of being a fan. I want nothing more to see Rigondeaux fight the best but if they aren't willing to fight; what can he do?

Rigondeaux if fighting on dec 31 and wants to fight Santajoke on jan 17 . Let's see what excuses santajoke makes now ....

Rigo should sign that roc nation contract , jay z and his company could make a good job with him here in the USA .

                    But 500 000 $ in Japan ? Ain't bad at all .

Hit and not be hit ; can not hit what you don't see .
