Comments Thread For: Jessie Vargas Targets Danny Garcia if No Pacquiao

WBA 'regular' junior welterweight champion Jessie Vargas (26-0, 9KOs) is hoping to be the lucky recipient of the Manny Pacquiao sweepstakes in early 2015. But if he misses out, he'd like to unify his title with the WBA's full champion, who also holds the WBC crown, Danny "Swift" Garcia (29-0, 17KOs).

Whether or not Garcia will remain at 140-pounds is still up in the air. Since a one-sided blowout of Rod Salka in August, Garcia has been quiet regarding his future plans and his return date is unknown.

Pacquiao should be targeting Garcia as Plan B instead of Vargas.

Vargas-Garcia would likely be a good fight to watch, wouldn't mind seeing it next year.

              Isn't Viktor Postol, Garcia's mandatory?

Or did I dream that up.

If no Lamont, Garcia goes up to 147 or some cw in between. Arum and Haymon are not going to negotiate for that fight, so this won't happen at all.

Either one would knock you the **** out. Why don't you rematch one of the many fighters you've gotten a gift decision over?
