You're not likely to see that fight Shane, at least not yet, because Cotto is going to cash out and accept the $40 million offer from Al Haymon to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. for the second time.

Where is your source for this mythical 40 million dollar offer? The most Floyd himself would make is 32 million and cotto would be lucky If he got 10 million. Whatever the real number is it is certainly less than he would make being A side in a canelo mega fight

Man I've just realized everyone fighting for the May 2nd date Mosley has lost to. That's got to suck. The only one he has beat is the promoter.

yea but here's the thing.... Like those throwback fighters, he fought everybody, unlike these cherry pickers nowadays...Wasn't anywhere near his prime against any of them, except for DLH.

Yall still remember Floyd ducking the **** out of Shane back in the day until he was old

I remember Floyd ducking the ish out of Magarito. That's Floyd was upset with Arum. He didn't want Arum facing him with a beast. Floyd would've made 8M, that would've been his biggest payday at the time. It's amazing how Floyd fans pretend like he hasn't duck stiff comp. Smh.

The revisionist history that people pass along as fact is laughable. People say Floyd ducked ODLH, Mosely, Margarito, and Cotto. But, none of it is true.

DLH and Mosley were both much bigger draws than Floyd was while he was still coming up with Top Rank. In fact there's a youtube video floating around of Mayweather at 140 lbs calling out Shane and ODLH who were at 147, and Shane dodging the question when Merchant asked if he wanted the fight. Even Roy Jones and Lampley agreed that both of them would likely duck Mayweather cause they have nothing to gain and everything to lose.

Then they say he ducked Margarito, but in reality that fight was scrapped because Arum wanted him to fight Margarito before his hand was healed, Arum didn't want to guarantee him 10 million for the Cotto fight after fighting Margarito, AND if he wasn't getting the guarantee for the Cotto fight he'd rather wait until DLH/Mayorga was over because he'd prefer the DLH fight. Since the buyout window offered by Arum closed before the DLH/Mayorga fight, and Arum didn't want to pay him $20 million for the DLH fight, Mayweather paid Arum $750,000 and went solo. It's a misrepresentation to say Floyd ducked Margarito, Cotto, DLH, or Mosley when he was with Top Rank.

                  Here's a link from a Dan Rafael article in 2006: http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/box...ory?id=2420382

What does Bob Arum have to say about him ducking Margarito?

"What Arum wouldn't do, he said, was raise the guarantees for other fights outlined in the contract.

Arum said while Mayweather would have taken the $8 million to fight Margarito, he asked for a $10 million guarantee to fight opponents such as Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, when Arum was only willing to guarantee $7 million.

Arum said Mayweather also asked for $20 million to fight De La Hoya, a fight Arum said he wasn't interested in participating in.

"That's not in the cards," Arum said. "He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It's not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. We'll talk about things down the road."

In case you're reading comprehension isn't up to snuff, up above Bob Arum said that Floyd was willing to take the Margarito fight but wanted guarantees that his purse would continue to increase. And, one of the increased purses he wanted was for a Cotto fight! That kills any truth to the statements of him ducking Margarito or Cotto. Plus, why would a guy rising in the P4P ranks take a pay cut in his guarantees? That's ******. Furthermore, Uncle Bob went on the record saying ODLH vs Mayweather wasn't a fight that could support paying Mayweather 20 Million. One question, how much was Mayweather's guarantee to fight DLH?

                  Do your history!
