I thought Oscar said yesterday in a tweet that the fight between Cotto and Alvarez was almost done! Now he is saying that they have been waiting on Cotto for the last six weeks? Was Oscar lying yesterday or is he lying today?

It is obvious to me what is happening. Cotto is waiting to see if a Mayweather/Pacquaio fight will be made. If not, he will fight Mayweather in a rematch. If it is, he will sign to fight Alvarez in June 2015.

Alvarez to take less than 50 percent for a fight in which he will be the B-side and in which he is begging for. That is very generous of him.

Alvarez has never KO'd a B-class fighter. What makes you think he will KO an A-class fighter, even a faded one.

ty arum just said Vargas is on the plan b list. HBO has standars s they wouldn't do that. Also pacquiao could fight canelo and really punk may weather and take his may date, ppv crown and everything. Plus cotto would make more as a side against canelo, its a bigger fight whether you believe it or not it has the biggest peurto Rican ppv star against Mexico's and we haven't seen it yet plus nobody has a 32 mill guarantee which limits the purse of the opponent.
HBO has standards and wouldn't allow Pac vs Vargas? But they allowed Pac vs Algieri??

Algieri is the number 3 rated light welterweight which is 3 spots higher than your boy Adrien broner and was coming off a big win over ruslan provodnikov on the headliner of an HBO card and that was pacquiaos worst opponent in 12 or 13 years, yeah Id say HBO has standards. Vargas is ranked number 7 and hasn't beaten any big named fighters or has even appeared as a healiner on an hbo card. Manny has not once fiughten a fighter who didn't at least appear on the headliner of an HBO or ShowTime televised card or ppv that Is a fact and its not going to change now

It was a tune up fight after taking a year off and Rios was former world champion with good power and world class chin. Alot of you floidiots said Rios would win and look what happened, not even close. No less of a fight than mayweathet fighting Guerrero or maidana who each never really did a whole lot except get a decent win the winter before the may mayweather date. Rios had a good resume and so did algieri. Not the best but who else was available not signed to haymon? He fought Tim Bradley in the middle and that was a more dangerous opponent and a bigger win than mayweather has had in 10 years or more. Pacquiao is not fighting Vargas next unless he somehow beats a big name on the headline of an HBO televised card which by the way both Rios and algieri did, and I'd be willing to bet all the points I accrue up until the day of pacwuiaos next fight

How is it a tune up fight when they fought for a belt? They fought for a vacant belt at a weight class that Rios had never fought before....which I don't know how you fight for a belt immediately after getting Knocked out. Rios was ranked #7 at Jr. Welterweight, while Pacquiao was ranked #7 at welterweight....SMH.

And anybody who picked Rios over Pacquiao is an idiot. If Rios was really a threat or was a real welterweight, pacquiao would've made him fight at a catchweight... But, HBO has standards tho.

Algeri and Rios were both terrible matchups. Neither guy was fighting at WW and did very little to "earn" their shot. Algeri's win over Prod was nice, but that was at 140. Rios lost his fight before. Can you imagine the hate Floyd would have gotten if he fought someone Khan after he lost to Garcia or Peterson? Thats what the Rios fight was for Pac.

                    Or

We should hope Floyd to fight Sadam Ali coming off his W of Abregu. Thats comparable to the Algeri win.
