mma purses vs boxing purses

Hey everyone,

this isn't a which sport is better than which argument or debate, i just simply want to compare the purses of an mma fighter and a boxer.

Now i know boxers on a higher level get paid a lot more (Floyd mayweather jnr, pacman) but your average low tier undercard boxer and your average low tier undercard mma fighter. Which makes more money? I heard that the average undercard low tier UFC fighter will make a few thousand dollars, where as your average low tier boxer might only make a couple hundered dollars.

What about other mma organizations what are their purses like compared to the average boxer?

Simply put Boxers make more money than mma fighters. The reason being is boxing has more of a worldwide fan base and is a much more established sport.

Yes that's what I kinda think too, I love boxing but I know some guys only make a couple hundred quid per fight, where as the lowest paid ufc fighter makes 10 000

There are many mma fighters who make only a couple hundred quid per fight outside of the ufc also. Boxers receive a higher % of the revenue which leads to boxers receiving much higher paydays than mma fighters.
