Height and reach, yeah, but Froch actually comes to the ring at about the same weight as Canelo (low 170s), however remarkable that might seem.

Obviously no one would take such a fight seriously, but it does illustrate some of the absurdity of previous day weigh-ins.

Exactly OP is an idiot. I suppose Lara should face Kovalev at 175 since ou know, Lara rehydrates at 170 plus. Or Crawford should school Canelo at 154 lbs since he weighed in at 152 lbs in his last fight. Common sense in this thread = 0

******ity at these levels is almost hysterical, well done OP.

Weight alone doesn't determine everything. Two heavyweights can come in at the same weight one of them may have more power than the other. Froch is the naturally bigger man with more power and leverage than Canelo. Canelo's strengths are overwhelming his opponents physically with his aggression but Froch is just as tough if not tougher so Canelo. Froch has taken lots of punishment from bigger, stronger and more dangerous fighters in his career than Canelo but his chin is still solid. I don't see Canelo holding any advantage over Froch besides being much younger. Froch would keep Canelo at the end of his punches all night by his superior movement as well.

the weight gained in a 24 hour period between the weigh in and fight night is not representative of the healthy weight, largely consisting of muscle that a fighter has when actually fighting in a particular weight class, not to mention the experience of handling guys who will weight well over 180lb come fight night.

Canelo would literally be stepping into a bear pit against Froch.

I wish Canelo would step up and take this fight. To prove he is the real deal. Cus right now, he's failing miserably at that.

Froch would take this fight at 164lbs, he said he'd do 11st 10lbs (164) for Martinez.

They'd probably re-hydrate to the same weight, Froch is taller than Canelo but he's not a big SMW.

he is a SMW for a reason, if he was as small as canelo he will have no problem fighting at 154 or 155...
people need to understand that rehydrating weight is water, if one fighter rehydrates to a certain weight is not the same when the other fighter decides not to rehydrate and still have the same weight, from 15 to 20 lbs of difference in muscle...
