Former champion and now active promoter Ricky Hatton has helped the less fortunate in Manchester, by giving out food and presents at a homeless charity ahead of Christmas. Hatton told his hometown paper, the Manchester Evening News:

"I'm very proud as a Manchester lad of being a patron at Barnabus. I regularly walk through the city centre and see poor people. It's heartbreaking, especially at Christmas, it's probably the hardest time of the year for them. Some haven't got families, food or water. That's why I brought all this today."
