WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson is not backing his countryman, Jean Pascal, to defeat WBA/IBF/WBO champion Sergey Kovalev on March 14th from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. Stevenson has been mandated by the World Boxing Council to face the winner of the contest.

There were talks for Stevenson and Pascal, his mandatory challenger, to face each other in April, but their discussions fell apart after Stevenson refused to give Pascal a 50-50 split of the monetary terms.

Didn't this fool say just a few days ago he would help show Jean Pascal how to beat Kovalev? Now Kovalev knocks out Pascal? Stevenson sounds just as two faced as he does in his post fight interviews.

I think he wants Pascal to win so he doesn't have to fight Kovalev but knows Sergiy will in fact be victorious. And that fact scares Adonis.

Because it isn't true, Pascal accepted 60-40, and this is despite Pascal being the bigger ticket draw and viewers draw (see AS's 242k on Sho).

Not necessarily, it's entirely possible that Stevenson gets KO'd in 1 or 2 rounds.

However, on paper I agree, going into the fight Stevenson will rank as Kovalev's toughest test.
