Crawford-Gamboa, Provo-Algieri and your personal picks are excellent choices.
I always forget about Barrera-Morales I. I don't watch it much because it goes to a decision, but the amount of punches taken by those two fighters in that fight alone almost rivals the amount in Gatti-Ward I.
Yes, that's also an excellent way of getting someone interested in boxing and its history. I binged on that on youtube once. The series is great!
I remember that fight. My brother, who barely watches boxing, texted me to let me know that I HAD to see it. And man, what a fight.
De la Hoya-Mosley I and the Marquez/Vazquez trilogy are terrific fights. The only thing that bothers me is that there's no single fight within that series that (to me) REALLY stands out, so I end up not choosing any one in particular. If I had a gun to my head and had to choose, however, I'd probably go with the third bout just because of how close it is and how down to the wire it becomes in the closing seconds of the final round.
I've thought about doing that as well if my friend ever asks me to show him some fights, but at the same time I don't want to give him a false sense that boxing is ALWAYS exciting. I mean, how often do we walk away from a boxing match going, "I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THAT FIGHT AGAIN!" Once in a blue moon, it seems, that we'll get a fight worthy of it being remembered for years to come. I can see where you're coming from, though.
