Yes, I know Mares has a Froch type of resume, but it's been a year and some change now, he hasn't gotten his get backs yet . I'm with you if Mares has the right game plan, he can beat Gonzalez in a rematch. I can see Mares KO him out late. This fight has to happen 2015.

Mares is clearly shook from that devastating KO. He is more tentative and you can see him at times thinking too much. Once the fight goes his way he opens up.

True, he's still susceptible to big shots, especially the left hook. He also seems on the smaller side for that division. I can't see him having success against Gonzalez, Walters, Donaire and Loma. Maybe he beats Gradovich and Leo Santa Cruz if he moves up, but he's definitely not beating the top guys.Comment

Mares is trash who just happened to get lucky in some of his fights. Gonzalez, Walters, Loma etc would own him in the ring now. Like some have said, he has early onset JuanMa.... except he not only is losing skills, he's lost the courage needed to complete effectively.Comment

No doubt that Mares will fight Gonzalez again and Mares will win the rematch because he's a better fighter and will not make the same mistake twice.Comment
