Kovalov only got 6 figures against Hopkins lol.

He had zero interest in fighting him even before he signed with the tran man.

^ That right there is 95% of posters in this forum. All smartass, tough but just complete softies in real life who wouldn't even dare voice their strong opinions in public.

Last year, both Stevenson and Kovalev were relative newcomers to the sport in terms of exposure. both were getting attention due to their powerful early performances. HBO saw a perfect opportunity to bring further excitement to the sport by building these two up, with plans to have them meet eventually in a big match. Stevenson brought further attention to himself by taking on the nickname "Superman". Kovalev did similar by being dubbed "Krusher". One can easily see how many were left disappointed when Stevenson left HBO for rival Showtime; especially given the fact that the two networks weren't working together to make fights. But fans did have a glimmer of hope that Adonis would still be in a big fight with Hopkins, yet that fell through. Then we were left with the consolation prize of Stevenson vs Pascal, which also never materialized. Instead, we got to see "Superman" fight Sukhotsky, who seemed aptly named, because boy did he suck! So yeah Lyle, we are a bit miffed with Mr. Stevenson. At least Kovalev fought Hopkins. You want to look back at prior competition of Kovalev and Stevenson to justify the crappy fights that Stevenson is fighting now? Sorry, not buying it!

What's his appearance got to do with anything?

Surely what's important is content of his opinion, no?

In a 20 month period, Ray Leonard fought Wilfred Benitez, Roberto Duran x 2, and Thomas Hearns.

He averaged an ATG opponent every six months.

                    This writer is a moron.

That **** right there is worst. It's not even organic any more. The media keeps churning out these fugazi polarizing figures for everything and people bend logic to try to force it to happen. It's crazy.
